Summary of Position:
The Maintenance Lead directs machine building, maintenance personnel and operations ensuring project schedules and safety guidelines are met. The person in this position is responsible for troubleshooting complex situations
Functions of the Position: % of Time Essential/ Marginal
· Coordinates daily workload of employees in maintenance
positions. 25% Essential
· Works with engineering on schedules, plans and design issues. 25% Essential
· Responsible for fabricating and building customized processing
and packaging machinery and systems. 25% Essential
· Directs, guides, and mentors’ maintenance employees.
Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge,
skills and information within assigned team and across
functional areas 20% Essential
· Additional duties and responsibilities as needed. 5% Marginal
· Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe
and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices,
allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and
regulatory requirements.
· Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls
necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
· Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to
management.
· Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and
information within assigned team and across functional areas.
· Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as
professional and leadership development.
· Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established
for health and workplace safety.
· Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors,
reporting potential hazards and conducting safety observations as assigned. Continually

Qualifications
· Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
o Five plus years’ experience in directing machine building, or maintenance management.
o Experience in the food industry preferred.
o Technical education in maintenance, electronics and PLC preferred.
o High school diploma required.

o Strong leadership skills.
o Ability to train and mentor employees.
o Safe use of power and hand tools.
o Blueprint reading skills.
o Good math aptitude.
Job Specific Requirements:
In the event that the Maintenance Lead is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
