SUMMARY  

Shape Technologies Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Machinist with a focus on electrical systems to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial machinery and facility systems. Your expertise in reading schematics, ladder logic, PLC programming, and working with electrical drives will play a critical part in ensuring smooth operations. You will report to the Facility Maintenance Manager and collaborate closely with other departments to maintain seamless operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: 

Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on CNC machines, industrial equipment, and building facilities. Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in CNC machinery, including troubleshooting PLCs, drives, and other control systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical circuits and components. Test and replace faulty electrical components such as sensors, relays, switches, and motors. Perform calibration and adjustment of machine controls and electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality. Perform routine inspections on CNC machines and equipment to ensure electrical systems are running efficiently and safely. Maintain documentation of all electrical maintenance work, repairs, and inspections performed. Complete daily maintenance tasks, support special projects, and respond promptly to emergency electrical issues. Assist with additional maintenance activities, including mechanical repairs, facility upkeep, and general building maintenance as required. Other duties as assigned. 

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:  

Strong mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, organization, and reliability, with the ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team. Knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical systems, HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and mechanical systems, particularly in CNC machines and facility maintenance. Proficiency in using dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, gauges, electric multimeters, hand tools, power tools, industrial lifts, welding equipment, and torches. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings. Broad understanding of plant machinery and equipment setup, including lathes, mills, drills, grinders, pumps, cranes, and other production tools. Strong problem-solving skills, quick decision-making abilities, and the ability to work from verbal or written instructions. Adherence to all lockout/tagout safety procedures.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:  

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial and machine maintenance, with a strong focus on both electrical and mechanical systems. Extensive hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs. At least 1 year of experience in general facility maintenance. In-depth knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and standard practices used in shop mechanics. An electrical degree or certification, or a CNC maintenance certification, is preferred.
