Maintenance Manager – Plastic
Overview

Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager for the plastic manufacturing sector. This role, based in Johannesburg, offers an exciting opportunity to join a well-established company known for its innovation and quality in plastic production. The Maintenance Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and smooth production workflows.

 

Responsibilities:

Manage the maintenance team and oversee all maintenance activities related to plastic manufacturing equipment. Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal production uptime. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, coordinating timely repairs to minimize downtime. Collaborate with production managers to plan and schedule maintenance work. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation to comply with industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment to assess performance and safety standards. Manage budgets for maintenance operations, ensuring effective use of resources. Lead training and development initiatives for the maintenance team to enhance skills and knowledge. Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve maintenance efficiency and reduce waste. Stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends in plastic manufacturing machinery.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management in the plastic manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of plastic processing machinery and related maintenance practices. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing maintenance teams. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing. Proficient in maintenance management software and tools.
