Maintenance Manager
Maintenance Manager

Operational Hours:  Plant operates 24 hours/5 days a week; weekends as needed. This role will mainly be day shift and other shifts as necessary to keep up with business needs.

Salary Range:  $85,000 to $105,000, depending on experience.

This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers, and animal owners throughout the United States. As Maintenance Manger you will be responsible for leading the maintenance department to ensure an efficient, high quality, cost effective operating facility.

Responsibilities include: management of a preventative maintenance program and parts inventory, successful management of capital projects, responding to equipment failures in a timely manner, working with the management team on initiatives to reduce cost and improve quality, developing skills of assigned staff, proactively make recommendations and follow through on improving overall process systems.

Required (Basic) Experience & Education:

Associate Degree/2 Year Technical Certificate in a directly relevant discipline and 4-6 years maintenance supervisory experience OR High School Diploma and 6+ years of maintenance supervisory experience in Lieu of a degree

Must have a wide technical knowledge including: Electrical, PLC, Mechanical, Machining, Boiler, Welding, and General Construction practices.

Good written and oral listening/communication skills.

Strong leadership, coaching and training skills are highly needed for this role.

While this position is primarily a day shift position, the successful candidate must be available to work all shifts as business needs dictate.

Required Competencies & Other Skills: This candidate will have proven leadership and supervisory skills, strong communication/interpersonal skills, employee development skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to plan and organize. In addition, the candidate must possess the ability to manage conflict, align performance for success and initiate action.

Percentage of Travel: 5%
