Shafter is a city in Kern County, California, United States. It is located 18 miles

west-northwest of Bakersfield. Historically, much of Shafter's economy has been based on agriculture and ag-related industry. Local crops include almonds, pistachios, cotton, grapes and alfalfa as well as some carrots, potatoes and other vegetables. More recently Shafter has become a hub for a variety of economic endeavors including; manufacturing, logistics, and energy.There are two manufacturing plants in Shafter across the street from each other Mat and Shingle. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for providing direction, coordination and support for the daily execution of the maintenance department’s operating plan with the primary objective of maintaining the Plant’s equipment and facilities.

Essential Duties

Manage daily maintenance operations through the Maintenance Supervisor and all assigned mechanical and electrical maintenance personnel in the execution of their daily work to ensure the production line achieves objectives. Selects and coordinates appropriate training materials and sessions to develop the skill level of maintenance personnel.

Directs and coordinates design, construction, and maintenance of equipment and machinery. Performs all Mechanical and Electrical engineering jobs and/or designs as required. Selects and troubleshoots mechanical equipment. Performs NFPA70E tasks as required.

Establishes and administers preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations. Ensures compliance with all industry and company standard safety practices.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical knowledge/skills (entry, intermediate, advanced)

Intermediate Microsoft Office skillsProficient in AutoCADKnowledge of Allen Bradley drives and PLC’s is preferredKnowledge of Wonder Ware is preferred

Annual Salary Range: 126,000-161,000
