Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment and building systems for a large manufacturing plant that works 24/7.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the plant maintenance department to achieve all KPI’s which includes a top focus on all machine and equipment uptime.
• Ensure an effective preventative maintenance plan is maintained and delivered.
• Ensure the right spare parts are available on-site to minimize downtime when it occurs.
• Effectively develop a strong maintenance team with a passion for doing it right the first time, root causing the issues, and a sense of urgency when troubleshooting issues.
• Work with the other departments to help ensure new equipment is launched successfully.
• To effectively communicate with production to prioritize the assignments.
• Establish goals and objectives for the direct reports along with a detailed plan to provide them with the tools and training needed to accomplish goals and objectives.
• Perform FMEA on equipment critical path or single operations that may shut the customer down.
• Direct all work related to repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and specifications.
• Assist by advising workers engaged in analyzing, observing, and examining parts and machinery to determine error and course of corrective action.
• Interpret job orders, specifications and priorities for workers and assign duties for completion and review work to ensure accuracy.
• Complete and maintain various records regarding ordered parts and materials, maintenance time, safety and other related elements.
• Responsible for manning and skill levels of maintenance department.
• Develop and maintain systems and procedures that are conducive to good maintenance practices and will ensure that assets are well maintained.
• Responsible for downtime analysis to improve plant efficiencies through upgrades and modifications of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Engage in systematic problem-solving methods to provide continuous improvement in the maintenance department and facility.
• Prepare maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Required/Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or the combined equivalent of education plus job related experience of at least 10 years.
