We are seeking a skilled and driven Maintenance Manager to join Boart Longyear as a key member of the senior leadership team for our Water Well and Surface Coring operations. In this role, you'll lead maintenance teams to ensure the efficiency, safety, and reliability of our fleet, while driving innovation through systems, process improvements, and package optimization.
Your leadership will be pivotal in aligning maintenance practices with business goals, ensuring sustainable operations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
This position is Perth-based with a 5:2 roster and occasional site travel. If you’re ready to contribute to a forward-thinking company that values innovation and safety, we’d love to hear from you.
To be successful, you will need to be able to demonstrate:
• A solid foundation of experience in maintenance within the mining sector, ideally with exposure to management roles.
• Knowledge across maintenance planning, reliability, and execution for mobile equipment (specifically drilling packages), with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Oversee the department's optimal management by implementing policies, procedures, and business systems, while effectively utilising human and financial resources.
• A collaborative leadership style and strong communication skills, enabling you to build connections and engage effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
A few other things we’re looking for:
• Hold relevant trade certificate or tertiary qualification related to the field
• Experience in maintaining different drilling systems (experience in high pressure air systems desirable)
• Foundational knowledge in electrical systems as they pertain to drilling
• Experience in use of CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems), Oracle would be desirable
• Experience in personnel and roster management
• Budget management experience
• Inventory management of critical and spare parts.
The role will require regular travel and demonstration of highly visible leadership across operational sites.
