Maintenance Manager

Major Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Supervise maintenance personnel and manage the maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment.
• Responsible for the coordination and oversight of contractors.
• Develops requests for proposals (RFP’s) to be utilized in the bidding of plant contracted work and is involved in the negotiation of terms and conditions.
• Responsible for the management of OEM bulletins and technical information.
• Responsible for the accuracy, reconciliation, and management of plant inventory.
• Ensure proper inventory of capital spare parts for gas turbine and steam turbine. To include the tracking and repair of capital spares.
• Coordination of Maintenance Department activities with Operations Manager and the Operations Department to ensure activities are planned and efficiently executed.
• Coordinate, perform and document all preventive maintenance activities including those required by federal, state and local regulations.
• Maintain all equipment in excellent operating condition per OEM recommendations.
• Facilitates and coordinates root-cause analysis of equipment failures and ensures corrective actions are implemented.
• Adheres to Company’s Management of Change (MOC) program.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure that all personnel and contractors follow plant and company safety procedures and policies. Participates in and contributes to plant safety meetings and programs. Presents various safety training topics as assigned. Brings ideas for safety improvements forward. Documents all safety findings appropriately (near miss reporting, safety work orders, incident investigation participation, and safety improvement plan). Stops work and takes corrective action if an unsafe act is witnessed. Enforces site safety rules and practices.
• Leads in the development, planning and execution of outage work. • Leads in the planning and execution of plant capital improvement projects.
• Maintains good fiscal discipline. Actively participates in the planning and management of the maintenance budget.
• Adheres to the requirements of Process Safety Management and the Risk Management Program. Participates on the Process Safety Management team.
• Participate in the Asset Management program.
• Responsible for the Planning and Scheduling of preventative and corrective work through utilization of plant scheduling software.
• Responsible for the site CMMS program. Proficiently utilize CMMS to schedule work, prioritize work orders, maintain inventory, and procure parts and materials.
• Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for the maintenance team to ensure appropriate skill sets are maintained and personnel are qualified for the activities with which they are being asked to perform.
• Report abnormal or emergency plant conditions to the Plant Manager and Operations Manager.
• Manage the maintenance staff to promote efficient operations and utilization of overtime hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant experience.
• Ten or more years of industrial experience in maintenance, management or supervision, along with planning skills are required.
• Two or more years CMMS responsibility.
• Two or more years supervisory experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical background
• Knowledge of and willingness to continue to acquire an accurate understanding of all applicable environmental and safety rules and regulations.
• Good self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-reliance are extremely important.
• Leadership skills demonstrated by good interpersonal communications skills and the ability to effectively persuade and motivate peers and subordinates is vital.
• He/she should possess excellent administrative, management and organizational skills.
• He/she should be well versed in utilization of computer hardware and software necessary to communicate internally and externally
