Maintenance Manager

Primary Purpose of Position:

 

Manage & direct the Business Center maintenance activities.

Establish & execute maintenance & engineering objectives to continuously improve equipment reliability.

Manage & continuously improve preventive & predictive maintenance systems.

Manage the Business Center maintenance staff to continuously improve maintenance & engineering labor utilization.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Lead the continuous improvement of equipment reliability by driving PM & TPM systems in the Business Center

Continue to develop more efficient preventive & predictive systems, with the end goal of driving down overall maintenance downtime. Analyze downtime information & implement solutions to repetitive problems. Lead energy & environmental improvements in the Business Center

Manage the schedules & work of the skilled trade’s associates to drive improved labor utilization

Ensure skilled trade’s associates are adequately trained

Continuously drive solutions that reduce cost including labor, overtime, parts, contractors & operating items

 

Education:

 

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or 10-15 years heavy industrial manufacturing experience

 

Experience:

 

5 years of engineering/maintenance management experience in an industrial environment.

Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives including preventive & predictive maintenance systems.

Experience in a union environment (as appropriate by plant)

 

Skills:

 

Ability to direct cross-functional work groups to achieve Business Center Equipment reliability objectives, goals & timeline.

Computerized layout, spreadsheet & database management.

Requires strong communication, business, technical, analytical & planning skills.

Knowledge of PM & TPM methodologies.

Understanding of plant layouts, capital estimating, associate-man computations, tire cost structure & Mfg. equipment processes.
