Maintenance Manager
JOB SUMMARY The Packaging Maintenance Manager is responsible for improving asset utilization, uptime, and production throughput of packaging equipment by implementing proven reliability improvement processes and sound work management practices. STATUS: Full Time JOB TYPE: Exempt LOCATION: Rochester, NY DEPARTMENT: Maintenance ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES + Demonstrate safety acumen and passion to develop a safer culture + Create a roadmap for proactive maintenance and upgrades to our packaging equipment that will maximize productivity, avoid or minimize downtime, and prolong the life of installed assets + Use organized planning, optimized material support, and coordinated work execution to ensure maintenance and repair work across all trades is performed safely, timely, efficiently, and cost effectively to support packaging requirements and schedule + Utilize continuous improvement techniques to analyze equipment failures and to implement changes to reduce or eliminate equipment failure + Ensure production areas receive prompt, efficient, and quality service from the maintenance function and ensure the maintenance function is given the opportunity to provide this service + Help drive a mindset and skills around preventative and proactive maintenance, shifting work responsibilities as appropriate + Provide meaningful management reports to enhance control of maintenance operations + Lead, direct, and equip packaging mechanics to support entire packaging process + Maximize use of CMMS to create and adhere to a work order scheduling process and perform asset management + Continually reduce equipment downtime and increase availability through the establishment of a preventative/predictive maintenance program (including failure analysis) designed, directed, monitored, and continually improved + Utilize TPM to grow ownership of packaging equipment among operators, line supervisors, mechanics, and other trades + Keep the Facilities and Packaging Operations Manager properly informed on all abnormal or critical situations + Work with Procurement and Central Stores to improve correct spare parts availability + Develop department budget + Seek methods to reduce utilities consumption, protect the environment, reduce waste, and foster a safe work environment + Investigate and prioritize equipment repairs, upgrades, and replacements as part of the capital project process as well as manage projects as directed + Coordinate efforts of other trades and outside contractors in both MRO expenses and capital projects to support packaging department equipment + Work with Quality and EHS departments to drive safety and quality initiatives + Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Packaging Science; equivalent experience will be considered + 2-5 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or Packaging position + 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role + Previous budget development and management experience + Ability to drive and lead change, hold others accountable, and relate well to people at all levels of the organization + Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks to closure concurrently PERKS + Generous Benefits with options to fit your life + Blue4U Discounts + Retirement Options with employer contributions + Annual Incentive Bonuses + 10 paid holidays per year + Flexible scheduling + Generous paid time off + Culture of pride and community involvement + And of course, beer! In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $84,600 - $127,000/year, not including benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at FIFCO USA, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role.
