Job Description
Purpose:
Responsible for all general maintenance plumbing, electrical works and painting and decorating liaising with the General Manager at all times, all aspects of ongoing and pending plumbing and electrical as well as general maintenance jobs on a regular basis. Ensure that the brand standards and procedures are complied with.
Duties include/Key areas of responsibilities
Overview of duties:
Responsible for implementing and following up the hotels preventative maintenance programmeCo-ordinates and implements regulatory procedures and audits (safety of people and property etc.)Responsible for Health & SafetyOut of hours call outCustomer relations
Respects guest's privacyContribute to guest comforts through swift and appropriate interventionProfessional techniques / Production
Ensure that fire security installations are in good working orderTo carry out weekly fire alarm testRun regular checks on technical equipment to prevent any problemsImplement corrective actions plansPrepare and track the action plans instigation by the safety commissions and audit authoritiesCheck application of water hygiene proceduresAdvise the General Manager when specialist intervention is requiredTo consult and confer with the General Manager regarding the changing or replacing of equipment, fixtures and procedures throughout nay of the company premisesInsure the evolution of his/her knowledge and the safety of their interventionsTo attend company training if required toAdministration
Follow up investment and maintenance budgets (contracts, purchasing etc.)Handle relation with sub-contractorsEnsure that outside contractors sign in/out book is kept up to dateTrack and optimise energy consumptionAttend the daily handover meetingsHygiene/Personal safety environment
Respect the legionnaire's disease directiveApply the hotels security regulations (in case of fire etc.)Respect the hotels commitment to the "Environment Charter" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc.) and ISO regulationsActively contribute to the safety of people and property (ensuring safety exits remain clear of obstruction etc.)Organise and follow up security and fire prevention training for all hotel staffTo be aware of, and comply with, safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety ActManaging the Health and Safety meeting and liaising with the General Manager to ensure the Hotel is compliantEnsure that the weekly call point test/ emergency lighting checks are recorded and any defect dealt withComplete the health & safety documents ensuring all are up to dateTo ensure that grounds are kept clean and tidyEnsure that all garden furniture is maintained on a regular basisTo ensure appropriate protective clothing is provided and worn by relevant personnel within the businessThis list of duties is not exhaustive and is subject to change in accordance with the business requirements and may be viewed and updated as necessary.
Qualifications
Education/Professional experience
5 years of experience in a similar fieldMust have practical and theoretical skills in related areas: cold storage, air conditioning, building pathology, water processing, public building regulationsKnowledge and experience of associated computer applicationsHave a fluent understanding of English both written and verbalVocational certificate or diploma in electronics or technical studies, or degree in hotel maintenance preferredSkills / Qualities
