Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd shift
Description

Position Summary

 

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, be flexible on schedules and be results-oriented. You will be challenged to repair and maintain quarry processing equipment. Primary responsibilities may include repairs to crushing, screening, conveying, and pumping equipment, also performing brazing, welding, arc-welding, and cutting tasks. This position will work the 2nd shift.

Position Responsibilities

 

Conduct a complete pre-and post-shift safety inspectionObserve all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company regulationsReport unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Lead person or ManagerCommunicate with plant management on all safety and maintenance needsAbility to perform high levels of maintenance and servicing on a plant with little assistanceMust have welding and torch skillsAbility to work in confined and small spacesMaintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe fashionAbility to safely and efficiently operate front end loader, skid steer, man-liftAbility to diagnose and adjust equipment for optimum performanceInspect, check and maintain lubrication levels in equipment usedNeed to have own tools for repair work

 

Position Requirements

 

A high school diploma requiredMathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using Imperial units of measure.Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write short messages and conduct one on one and small group conversations for information sharing. Primary language – English.3-5years of experience in mining or heavy construction environment required.3-5 years of experience working on equipment maintenance is highly preferred.Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and centrifugal/ vertical pumps a plus.Knowledge of safety rules and regulations, OSHA and MSHASafety oriented individual with a good safety record.Flexibility with work hours mandatory.Ability to lift 50 lbs., walk, stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb and descend ladders and stairs. Work in cramped confined spaces.

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $22-$47, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
