Work Environment: The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft. These include LPT Nozzles, HPT Nozzles, and HPT Hangars. You’ll find state of the art technologies in CNC, EDM, and Coating as well as advanced technology development within our new Tech Lab.
Essential Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair industrial chillers; cooling towers; central plant chilled/heated water and steam systems; CNC machines; and all associated equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair industrial pumps, temperature controllers, industrial plumbing equipment, general plumbing.
Strong analytical skills in electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical controls, control software logic, direct digital control and components.
Maintain and repair control valves, dampers, linkages, actuators, compressors, cooling/heating coils, etc.
Install and maintain power and control circuits (voltages up to 500vac) including conduit installation.
Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Responsible for quality assurance aspects relative to the job/task performed
Maintains work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts
Adheres to and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out; report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow all safety practices
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or related maintenance
Minimum of 1 certificate of completion in maintenance of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and building maintenance and plumbing
Willing and able to work overtime and any shift and weekends.
Requires the ability to read, write, and speak the English language: interpret and follow written procedures, and follow verbal instructions.
Requires the ability to read blueprints and schematics
Operate a scissor lift, forklift and articulated boom lift.
Must be proficient in repairing and maintaining machinery in operating condition.
Have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair/replace mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
Working knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Excel
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass physical, background, and drug screens
Desired Characteristics:
Associate degree or 2-year certificate in, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and/or building maintenance.
Knowledgeable in industrial plumbing and electrical
Experience using maintenance system
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
Proven experience and willingness to be self-directed and identify improvement processes
