Incumbent will use drawings to install new machines and equipment, repair equipment breakdowns which include welding, plumbing, acetylene cutting, bearing replacement, seals, shafts, and other mechanic malfunctions. You will be responsible to perform mechanical preventive maintenance of all production equipment and perform major mechanical overhauls of machinery and equipment. In addition, you will be required to perform routine maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds. Incumbent must maintain accurate records of all time and material used for all assignments and enter the information into the Maintenance system.
Candidate will assume responsibility for housekeeping in the Maintenance area which is maintained on a level consistent with 6S standards. Individual will strictly observe Prysmian’s safety rules as well as any special safety rules which apply to equipment unique to Maintenance, reminding contractors and visitors of their responsibility to comply with all Prysmian Group safety rules as well as any applicable regulations. Participate as fill-in for absences caused by vacation/illness which includes weekends and all shifts as required and work overtime as needed. Special assignments, such as writing procedures, lock out/tag out instruction sheets, JSA’s or managing projects will also be required. You will be expected to participate in plant initiatives aimed at enhancing safety and plant performance which includes participating as a member of the Department Safety Committee from time to time.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Successful candidate must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of mechanic issues across a broad range of subjects by attaining a satisfactory score on the NOCTI Mechanical exam, i.e. – Bearings, how they are used, installed and lubrication, brakes and clutches, pump maintenance, couplings and motors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, braking systems, blueprint reading, welding and use of the acetylene cutting torch.
Qualifications:
An Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or Electromechanics Maintenance Technology is desired. Two (2) years of experience in the following areas is essential: Hydraulics, pneumatics, blueprint reading, and equipment rebuild. Good math skills, along with machine shop experience are also required.Solid, stable work historyWillingness to work in a team environment and participate in safety, quality and production improvement activities.Significant experience and selected formal coursework in the subject matter listed below could be considered as an alternate to the degree.Courses are required covering the subject matter listed below:
