Education:
1 year of intensive technical training after high schoolLicensure:
Valid state-issued driver’s licenseExperience:
1 year of experience in general maintenance work, preferably in an institutional setting to gain knowledge of equipment repair and to be able to troubleshoot and diagnose a variety of machinery and mechanical problems.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responds to maintenance service calls in all areas of the hospital complex.
• Completes preventive maintenance schedules as assigned.
• Troubleshoots and services pneumatic tube system.
• Installs, repairs and maintains mechanical equipment and systems.
• Replaces, repairs and maintains minor electrical systems/equipment.
• Reports any unsafe equipment or practice to supervisor.
• Performs assigned tasks during emergency situations (Code 1, Dr. Rose, snow storms, electrical outages, etc.).
Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of the principles of maintenance and repairs.
• Thorough knowledge of current trends, codes, safety practices and technologies related to the trade and associated trades.
• Skill in data analysis and interpretation.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, etc.
• Skill in using power and hand tools
