Maintenance Mechanic or Lubrication Technician - Mendota, IL
This is a full-time, hourly position.
Position Summary:
This key operational role is responsible for maintenance reliability at a 30,000 cwt/day wheat flour mill. The ideal candidate maintains ADMs high standards for Safety and Quality with a heavy emphasis on Maintenance Reliability. Successful candidates will be good communicators who can nurture outstanding relationships as part of a self-directed work team. They will have the ability to identify and decisively solve problems as they arise and maintain records in accordance with established ADM policies.
The Maintenance Mechanic will be part of a self-directed teams as small as 2 members and up to 35.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintenance:Perform mechanical maintenance on equipment and facilities of a plant that produces flour and feed products as part of a self-directed team.Optimize equipment efficiency, personnel safety and product quality in accordance with budgetary parametersMaintains records in accordance with established ADM policies and proceduresAssists external departmentsProactively seeks and supports the plant goals and vision in accordance with ADM Milling’s strategic visionBase all decisions, perform acts and personify self in the best interest of the companyProactively support operational excellence initiatives.Continually train and develop maintenance team members. Health, Safety & Environmental:Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety regulations, rules and sound practices.Coordinate and participate in audits, prioritizing and tracking completion of findings.Ensure that unsafe behavior and conditions are corrected.Perform Safety audits and set the example for safety. Sanitation/Food Safety:Ensure the facility maintains world class sanitation standards.Prepare the facility for, and participate in, regulatory/third party/customer/company audits.Required Skills:Must have a strong commitment to employee safetyRequire excellent command of the following: leadership, problem solving, self-motivation and organizational skills.Must have confident and courteous manner.Must be able to hear and speak clearly, read, comprehend and communicate orally and in writing.Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working in extreme temperatures.Must be willing to participate in team on-call rotation schedule.Experience with and use of technical measuring tools in millwright tradeBasic knowledge of machine mechanical systems acquired through training or experienceExperience with or willingness to learn forklift and scissors lift operationsBasic welding skillsBasic electrical skills are a plusOR

Job Responsibilities:
Maintenance:Manage lubricant delivery, storage and dispensation.Create and manage routes for machinery re-lubrication and/or inspection.Properly change and/or top-off the oil in mechanical equipment.Collaborate with the preferred Lubricant Supplier (Petro Canada) representative to select proper lubricants for industrial machinery including:Oil with the proper Base and additive system.GreaseUse simple techniques to select grease application methods that are least intrusive and most effective for industrial machines.Use simple techniques to estimate re-grease volume and interval for industrial machines and adjust according to guidelines/experience.Properly maintain lubrication equipment.Employ basic oil analysis techniques to identify and troubleshoot abnormal lubricant degradation conditions and use simple techniques to adjust the lubricant specification accordingly.Manage lubricant testing, and quality assurance, employing proper sampling procedures to ensure representative oil samples are taken consistently.Utilize mechanical aptitude and experience to inspect mechanical equipment and identify/report abnormal conditions.Record lubricant quantities applied, and other data as required.Utilize ultrasonic equipment to enable the proper amount of grease to be added and identify abnormal conditions.Health, Safety & Environmental:Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety regulations, rules and sound practices.Coordinate and participate in audits, prioritizing and tracking completion of findings.Ensure that unsafe behavior and conditions are corrected.Perform Safety audits and set the example for safety.
