Location Description The Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 155 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits®. Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams. Responsibilities Weekend Maintenance Mechanic Starting rate: $34.75 per hour The schedule for the Weekend Maintenance Mechanic will be: Saturday - Monday with alternating Fridays 12-hour shifts, either 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am (shifts do NOT rotate!) Shift premiums up to $1.50 per hour Responsibilities In the Maintenance Mechanic role, you will: Maintain and repair all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves customer satisfaction in support of the manufacturing of Kibbles ‘n Bits Review work orders to ensure materials are available and develop manpower and scheduling estimates. Initiate work orders when work cannot be performed immediately Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety Qualifications The successful candidate (s) for this role will have the following qualifications: Possess a high school diploma or a GED Strong mechanical aptitude combined with good diagnostic skills A proven track record of consistent performance delivering safety and quality Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions Ability to comply with a strict attendance policy Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Ability and willingness to communicate with cross functional teams Experience in food manufacturing preferred Expectations: Able to operate, perform basic physical activities: climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and moving around stairs, ladders, platforms and various equipment Able to lift objects up to 60 pounds frequently Must be able to effectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents Qualified candidates may be required to complete an assessment Post Holdings provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, status as a covered veteran and any other category protected under applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws.
