Maintenance Mechanic

Basic Qualifications:

An application must include a resume for review and consideration. This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).    Applicants must have at least 2 years of continuous related manufacturing experience and/or training. Availability for all shifts (including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift) is necessary. The ability to work overtime and weekends is required as schedules may vary based on operational needs; flexibility is essential. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic will install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and piping systems of industrial equipment and facilities. 

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

Ability to read and follow the information on work instructions. Record data either manually or by computer as required. Assist with testing and repair of equipment. Test malfunctioning equipment and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and assist with repairs, as directed. Assist with the dismantling of machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, as directed. Assist with the facility preventive machine procedures. Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment, as directed. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures. Rigs equipment for installation or relation, as directed. Must be familiar with and provide all types of hand tools as required. Must be able to read basic blueprints to install equipment and components. Ability to operate an industrial forklift. Must be able to work in varying heights up to and including 50 feet.

Skills and Abilities:

Forklift License required with renewal every two years. Confined space entry certification with recertification every year. Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.  Good communication skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
