Maintenance Mechanic
**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** The Maintenance Mechanic will repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure that such equipment is in good operable condition at all times. The machinery includes ovens, mixers, boilers, conveyors, and packaging machines. **Responsibilities** + Train less experienced employees as required. + Assist with installations, operations, maintenance, checks, and troubleshooting of all types of A/C and D/C electrical equipment. + Install, operate, maintain, and check all types of mechanical equipment as directed. + Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and repairs as indicated on the formal CPMS program. + Complete work orders and assigned work as directed by supervisor or lead. + Complete all reports and paperwork as required for company record keeping. + Troubleshoot and repair food processing and industrial machinery. + Assist in installing and repairing electrical conduits, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connection controls and grounding as directed. + Operate mobile lift truck and hoisting equipment in the performance of maintenance work. + Clean and paint all repaired equipment as directed. + Perform all PM and repair work in accordance with AIB and GMP principles. + Possess some knowledge of lubricants for all types of machines and perform necessary lubrication of production machinery as directed. + Help maintain spare parts inventory for the plant as directed by checking out parts from the parts mezzanine, using parts procedures, and restocking shelves as directed. + Maintain inventory of industrial maintenance tools per department tool list (necessary personal tools of the trade). + Complete tasks indicated on work orders, inspections, and A.I.B. checklists as directed by supervisor. + Keep work area clean and perform cleaning of the assigned area. + Assist in the training of new personnel. + Provide suggestions to improve processes, procedures, and department in support of company goals. + Follow Company, GMP, and Safety policies to ensure compliance with the HACCP program and AIB gold standard. + Follow all food safety principles and legal requirements. + Maintain a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promote teamwork. + Work in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements. + Participate in monthly departmental meetings. + Must work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Troubleshooting + Electrical + Mechanical + Hydraulics + Pneumatics + Preventive maintenance + Conveyors + Maintenance repair + PLC troubleshooting + Fabrication + Electrical troubleshooting + Welding + Blueprint reading + Schematic reading + Industrial machinery + ARC welding equipment + Gas cutting equipment + Power tools usage + Electrical test equipment usage **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 1 - 3 years of experience + Possess working knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulic systems, and air systems + Ability to read semi-complex diagrams and assist in troubleshooting systems + Must read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints + Use simple shop math and possess knowledge of local, state, and federal codes **Why Work Here?** We offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
