ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Performs non-technical repairs and maintenance tasks in the NASA HQ building and offsite locations.Responsible for carpentry maintenance and repair tasks, drywall repair, painting, door and hardware repair/replacement, mounting wall fixtures and signage, exhibit display set-up/breakdown, carpet tile installation, furniture assembly/disassembly, and equipment repair.Assists with transportation, moving, and set-up of furniture, equipment, and appliances as directed by the government.Utilizes moving trucks and other provided vehicles to transport and deliver items to designated locations.Responds to service requests and completes tasks according to the priority time frames established in the performance standards.Prioritizes and schedules work orders efficiently, ensuring timely completion of tasks and customer satisfaction.Provides and maintains all necessary equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment required to perform facilities services at NASA HQ.Ensures equipment is properly used, maintained, and stored in compliance with safety guidelines. Repairs and maintains furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed. Assesses damages, performs necessary repairs, and ensure items are functional and safe for use.Receives and fulfills approved boxing and packing requests, ensuring items are securely packaged and prepared for transportation or storage.Provides facilities support services at offsite NASA HQ sponsored events.Sets-up and arrange furniture, equipment, and signage as required for event activities.Adheres to safety protocols, regulations, and procedures while performing facilities services. Maintains a clean and organized work environment, ensures proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials.

QUALIFICATIONS-

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Minimum Education: High School Diploma.Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

 

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have or be eligible for security clearances. May require occasional travel.
