The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work in the installation, repair, and replacement of plant equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic is a part of a team, and the quality of their work plays an important part in the success of that team.

The Maintenance Mechanic must demonstrate a competency in:
HydraulicsPneumaticsBlueprint readingBasic Math and ElectricityCranesBoiler, Lubrication, and Filtering SystemsPlumbing, Pipefitting, Valves and FabricatingSchematic diagramsPower transfer componentsUse of predictive toolsUse of all shop equipment including cutting and welding equipmentHigh school diploma or equivalent required, industrial/manufacturing experience preferred
Job Functions
Inspect, repair, and maintain a variety of plant equipment including electric motors, engines, pumps, boilers, air compressors, emergency systems, power generation systems, chillers, cranes, and power transmission systems.Construct, repair, and maintain facilities and grounds.Perform welding, masonry, carpentry, minor machining, and plumbing duties.Use test equipment and make operating adjustments to a variety of mechanical equipment. Inspect and set safety switches.Check and add oil to gearboxes, pumps, and engines, grease bearings and perform other related preventive maintenance work on equipment. Inspect, repair, and maintain all mobile equipment including forklifts, elevated work platforms, carts, and tractors.Check for proper gear mesh and proper alignment of machinery using established methods and practices.Make visual inspections of plant operations ensuring that operational problems have been located and corrected.Requisition of parts and supplies and assist in the maintenance of spare parts inventory.Maintained records and prepared regular and special reports on the operation of equipment and systems; took and logged a variety of readings from equipment.Supply and maintain all hand tools needed for maintenance function.Maintain communications with production, engineering, and other maintenance personnel for orderly execution of duties.Observe all EHS rules and procedures.Maintain an orderly and clean work area to ensure a desirable and safe working environment.
