Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for setting up repairs, rebuilding, and installing production equipment to ensure continuous production of all products. This role involves repairing malfunctioning production equipment such as fillers, conveyors, drives, coolers, and palletizing and boxing components. You will be tasked with installing new equipment or replacing equipment as required and setting up lines for product changeovers. As the primary technical leader on the shift, you will handle all planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and reducing downtime due to equipment failure. Additionally, you will assist with training operators to recognize and report potential equipment malfunctions and ensure knowledge and assistance with preventive maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze mechanical and operational problems and initiate plans for corrective action.Make necessary corrective repairs and running adjustments to maintain maximum production, safety, and quality.Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment such as mechanical drives, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and conveyors.Perform machining and fabrication tasks.Install new equipment or replace existing equipment as required.Set up lines for product changeovers as needed.Assist with training operators to recognize and report potential equipment malfunctions.Ensure knowledge and assistance with preventive maintenance.Essential SkillsTroubleshootingPreventive maintenanceRepairElectricalMechanicalPLC troubleshootingMechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair liquid packaging machinery, including fillers, bucket elevators, ovens, palletizers, etc.Electrical ability to troubleshoot 480v electric, 3-phase motors, and PLCsExperience with TPM or Lean ManufacturingWorking knowledge of computersAdditional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience as a line mechanic in a high-speed production environment; food manufacturing/bottling preferredAbility to use machine shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, and test equipmentAbility to read mechanical diagramsKnowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic controls and componentsExperience in pipe fitting, welding, and machiningWhy Work Here?

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00
