Maintenance Mechanic
**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking three maintenance mechanics to join our 3rd shift team at our new plant in Michigan. The maintenance mechanic will be responsible for all mechanical repairs and facility maintenance around the plant, ensuring production equipment and machinery are operating efficiently. **Responsibilities** + Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment such as motors, pneumatic equipment and tools, conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, CNC equipment, spindles, pumps, compressors, and other industrial equipment. + Install or relocate production equipment including setup, leveling, plumbing air, water, coolant, hydraulic, and electrical sources. + Rebuild and recondition faulty components or assemblies for later use. + Prepare the facility, install new equipment, and remove obsolete equipment. + Coordinate work with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations. + Troubleshoot production equipment in operation to locate causes of malfunction and perform repairs safely. + Dismantle devices to remove and repair or replace defective parts. + Inspect defective parts to detect imperfections and determine changes in dimensional requirements to prevent reoccurrence. + Locate replacement parts necessary to repair equipment including MRO crib, maintenance warehouse, and/or Tool Room for possible remanufacturing/reconditioning of part(s). + Adjust production equipment to achieve functionality and minimize downtime. + Start production equipment to test performance. + Utilize a variety of common hand tools and power tools such as drill presses, grinders, milling machines, pipe threader, and tools to make and repair parts. + Demonstrate knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out procedures. + Initiate purchase requisition for parts and machines. + Operate forklifts, cranes, and other handling equipment and be proficient with safe rigging practices. + Perform arc welding with MIG and stick machines and cutting with a torch as necessary to perform duties. + Assist electricians when needed and perform electrical duties within the individual’s ability, not limited to mechanical duties. + Perform Preventative Maintenance on time to provided schedule. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years as a maintenance tech in a fast-paced industrial setting. + Hydraulic troubleshooting on industrial machines including motors, hoses, and air movement. + Assembly equipment troubleshooting, diagnosing issues to ensure continuous production. + Basic MIG welding skills. + Facility maintenance inside and outside the plant, including light bulbs, sidewalks, and snow shoveling. + Basic electrical troubleshooting including diagnosing sensors and 240V circuits. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + PLC Troubleshooting (Allen Bradley & Siemens). + 480V Electrical troubleshooting, 3 phase motors. + Experience with vision systems. **Why Work Here?** Join a growing, motivated team at a new state-of-the-art plant. Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (7am - 3pm), 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm), and 3rd shift (11pm - 7am) with a 50 cent shift premium for off shifts. Expect an average of 40-50 hours per week during the transition of machinery to Michigan, with potential overtime depending on production needs.
