Maintenance Mechanic

Shift - Tuesday to Saturday; day shift; OT as needed

What this job involves - The Maintenance Mechanic will receive work orders for preventive maintenance as well as other general work needed from Plumbing, Mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry. Will receive call during shift for minor repairs needed. Also inspect building equipment to identify issues and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls.

What is the day to day?

Maintenance

Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems, equipment, and other components.General interior maintenance – hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems, repair doors, carpet, tile, signs, ceiling tilesGeneral Exterior Maintenance – repair tile, window seals, signs, wheel chocks, concrete stops, demarcationPerform the repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various components of the physical structure of the buildings.Prepare, prime, patch and paint building interior and exterior surfaces and perform general handyman tasks to maintain buildings.Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, furniture, window shades and controllers.Install or assemble furniture, fixtures, and other items as neededMaintain inventory of tools and equipmentAssist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment and/or as directedMoves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requestedReplace lightingClean HVAC coils, change filters and belts.Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.Meeting support functions as requestedOther tasks as assigned

Safety

Complete Hazard Assessments as necessaryComply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.Must complete all required safety trainings as scheduled as well as meet required safety observation requirementsPractice Defensive Driving at all timesComplies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials. 

Driving

Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s licenseMust complete defensive driving training as provided

Administrative

Submit P-card Receipts DailyUpdate work order status in real timeUtilize CMMS work order systems for all work performedPerform Vehicle Safety InspectionEscalating problems or issues to Customer and Manager in a timely mannerAttend work and safety meetings as required

Desired experience and technical skills -

Required

High school diploma or  equivalent2+ years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, plumbing, and electrical.Good communication skills, both oral and written.Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, carpentry and painting aptitude.

Preferred

Familiarity with CMMS (computer maintenance management system)

Physical work requirements and work conditions

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb up to 30 ft ladders and be comfortable training to use lift.Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving.Proficient in safely performing overhead work while standing on ladders.Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s licenseMust pass background, drug/alcohol

Estimated total compensation for this position:

28.00 – 31.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
