Maintenance Mechanic
**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** This role is for the 2nd shift which runs from 2pm-10:30 pm, Monday-Friday. The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. This includes working with motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines. The position involves troubleshooting malfunctions, performing emergency repairs, and maintaining equipment and parts inventories. **Responsibilities** + Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines. + Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform emergency repairs on various types of industrial machines in the production area. + Operate power equipment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards. + Notify maintenance and supervisor of needed machine repairs or areas of maintenance concern. + Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance. + Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt. + Monitor, identify, and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery, including changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells, or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery. + Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric, and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner. + Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises, and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate. + Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment. **Essential Skills** + Troubleshooting + Mechanical + Hydraulics + 480 V + CNC Machining + Pneumatics + Electrical + Repair + Preventive maintenance **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or GED + 3 or more years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment + Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical equipment, troubleshooting & repair, and safe work practices + Experience working in a production environment + Ability to read building and electrical schematics + Possess excellent skills and techniques in repairing and maintaining industrial/production machines + Basic math skills + Excellent organizational and decision-making skills + Ability to work independently and efficiently in an often fast-paced environment **Why Work Here?** Enjoy weekly pay with direct deposit, a fixed schedule, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans. The facility can get hot in the summer and is not climate-controlled. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of East Hartford, Connecticut. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
