**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing daily work orders, conducting plant inspections, and performing preventative maintenance on manufacturing plant equipment. This role requires expertise in diagnosing and repairing gear boxes, conveyors, motors, and packaging equipment. Additionally, you will work on complex systems such as heat exchangers, gage systems, and refrigeration units. The successful candidate must possess strong electrical skills, including troubleshooting relays, wiring, and high voltage systems, as well as the ability to read blueprints and P&ID loops. Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
**Responsibilities**
+ Complete daily work orders and plant inspections
+ Repair and troubleshoot gear boxes, conveyors, motors, and packaging equipment
+ Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing plant equipment
+ Work on pistons, heat exchangers, and gage systems
+ Replace sprockets, gear boxes, and three-phase motors
+ Read blueprints and P&ID loops
+ Troubleshoot relays, wiring, and high voltage systems
+ Pull wire and run conduit
+ Maintain boilers and understand steam production
+ Understand refrigeration systems (Freon and Ammonia) and possess CFC Universal certification
+ Use welding and fabrication skills as needed
+ Maintain own tools
**Essential Skills**
+ 5 years of mechanic experience
+ Strong electrical skills
+ Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and air compressors
+ Ability to read P&ID prints
+ Basic understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
+ Troubleshooting skills
+ Mechanical skills in industrial plant manufacturing
+ Basic refrigeration knowledge
+ Great attitude and work ethic
+ Ability to work flexible shifts
+ Adaptability to changing tasks
+ Firefighter mentality - willingness to jump in and help as needed
+ Strong team player
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ PLC troubleshooting
+ Welding and fabrication
+ Boiler maintenance
+ Stationary Engineering License (Maryland 1st or DC 3rd)
+ Passion for industrial maintenance

**Work Environment**
Our facility is a milk manufacturing plant producing 100-180k gallons of milk daily. We operate 24/7, processing raw milk into various dairy products and occasionally producing fruit juice drinks. The plant is unionized, and seniority dictates shift assignments. Flexibility in shift availability is necessary, as shifts include 11 pm-7 am, 12 am-8 am, 3 pm-11 pm, and 7 am-3 pm. Typically, employees are given the same two days off each week. Be prepared to be on call from time to time. The work environment is dynamic, with a focus on teamwork and efficient production to meet customer demands.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LANDOVER, Maryland.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $38.91 - $38.91
