**Job Description**
A manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance of industrial production equipment in a food production facility. Responsibilities include troubleshooting machines, handling machine breakdowns, conducting rebuilds, welding, electrical programming, and possessing knowledge of PLCs, automation, and fabrication.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform preventative and reactive maintenance for industrial production equipment.
+ Troubleshoot machines and handle machine breakdowns.
+ Conduct rebuilds, welding, and electrical programming.
+ Utilize knowledge of PLCs, automation, and fabrication.
+ Demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities on control systems, pumps, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on complex process and packaging equipment.
+ Work on industrial machines with electrical experience at 480V.
+ Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime in production.
+ Document maintenance activities using the maintenance database (CMMS).
+ Communicate maintenance issues to relevant employees, including maintenance techs, operators, engineers, and supervisors.
+ Properly utilize the maintenance inventory system.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a production company, preferably in food or beverage.
+ Experience in troubleshooting control systems, pumps, motors, HMIs, and PLCs.
+ Electrical experience with 480V industrial machines.
+ Experience in preventative maintenance.
+ Ability to document maintenance activities in CMMS.
+ Effective communication skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Diploma or GED required.
+ Experience with compressors, water heaters, pneumatics, air lines, pumps, and 3-phase motors.
+ Experience with palletizers, box makers, and automation systems.
+ Ability to follow and adhere to strict GMPs.
+ Ability to work in a hot environment with strong smells.
+ Ability to lift 50lbs.
+ Proactive decision-making skills and a student attitude.

**Work Environment**
Our facility operates 24/7, and our high-quality chocolate production requires a hot environment due to the continuous melting and tempering of chocolate. Maintenance mechanics have their own shop with a workbench, welding machine, and all necessary tools provided. Computers are available for accessing work orders and entering daily reports. The dress code prohibits jewelry, fake lashes, fake nails, heavy scents, nuts, and glass. Uniforms and lockers are provided. Training starts on the first shift at 5:30 AM and then transitions to the second shift after a minimum of 30 days. Contractors will be shown around the facility, introduced to all areas, and assigned a lead to shadow for one month before working independently.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of American Canyon, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $37.00

**Workplace Type**
