**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
A manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial production equipment within a food production facility. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting, machine breakdowns, rebuilds, welding, electrical programming, PLC, automation, and fabrication.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial production equipment.
+ Troubleshoot and repair machines, including control systems, pumps, motors, HMIs, and PLCs.
+ Conduct machine breakdowns, rebuilds, welding, and electrical programming.
+ Utilize automation knowledge and fabrication skills.
+ Conduct electrical work on industrial machines with up to 480V.
+ Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime in production.
+ Document maintenance activities using the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
+ Communicate maintenance issues to relevant personnel, including other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, and supervisors.
+ Properly use the maintenance inventory system.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a production company, preferably in food or beverage.
+ Proven troubleshooting abilities on control systems, pumps, motors, HMIs, and PLCs.
+ Electrical experience with 480V industrial machines.
+ Experience in preventative maintenance.
+ Proficiency in documentation for maintenance activities using CMMS.
+ Ability to communicate maintenance issues effectively.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Diploma or GED.
+ Ability to follow and adhere to strict GMPs.
+ Capability to work in hot environments and areas with strong smells.
+ Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
+ Experience with electricity (480V), compressors, water heaters, pneumatics, air lines, pumps, three-phase motors, palletizers, and box makers.
+ Automation system experience.
+ Proactive decision-making ability and a student attitude.

**Work Environment**
The facility operates 24/7, producing high-quality chocolate. The environment can be hot due to the continuous melting and tempering of chocolate. Mechanics have their own shop with a work area, workbench, and welding machine. All tools are provided, and there are computers available for accessing work orders and entering daily reports. The dress code prohibits jewelry, fake lashes, fake nails, heavy scents, nuts, and glass. Uniforms are provided, and employees have assigned lockers. Shift training starts on the first shift at 5:30 AM and transitions to the second shift long-term. Training lasts a minimum of 30 days. New hires will shadow a lead for one month before working independently. A buddy program pairs new employees with a manager for additional support.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of American Canyon, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $37.00

**Workplace Type**
