Maintenance Mechanic
**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** Install, maintain, and repair production machinery, auxiliary equipment, packaging equipment/automation, and attend to building maintenance. Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and plant systems such as molding machines and auxiliary equipment. Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical problems. Make repairs and test equipment for operation. Order parts/equipment for projects. Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Install, program, or repair electrical apparatus and install new or repaired parts. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment. Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment. Enter and follow up on work orders in the PEM system. Conduct maintenance on Husky Machines. **Responsibilities** + Install, maintain, and repair production machinery and auxiliary equipment. + Attend to building maintenance. + Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and plant systems. + Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical problems. + Make repairs and test equipment for proper operation. + Order parts and equipment for projects. + Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. + Install, program, or repair electrical apparatus and install new or repaired parts. + Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment. + Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment. + Enter and follow up on work orders in the PEM system. + Conduct maintenance on Husky Machines. **Essential Skills** + Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. + Preventive maintenance. + Experience with schematics and hand tools. + Industrial maintenance. + PLC troubleshooting and maintenance. + High voltage electrical knowledge. + Blueprint reading. + Equipment maintenance. + Motor maintenance. + 3+ years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience. + Experience with automation. + Welding and fabrication skills. + Forklift operation. + Production maintenance. + Assembly skills. + PLC programming knowledge. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or GED required. + Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment maintaining automated equipment preferred. + Ability to read electrical and hydraulic diagrams for troubleshooting. + Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems effectively. + Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions. + Ability to effectively receive and present information in group settings. + Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. + Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and climb ladders safely. + Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas. + Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms, and horns on forklifts. + Ability to work at heights and safely manipulate tools and parts required for the job. + Ability to work overhead and in various positions frequently. + Ability to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift or 11 hours of a 12-hour shift. + Maintain housekeeping standards aligned with safety and quality expectations. + Ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals to work independently. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a great culture with a new HR team that has significantly improved employee satisfaction scores. Day shift hours are from 6:45 am to 7:00 pm, and night shift hours are from 6:45 pm to 7:00 am. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valdosta, Georgia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
