**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting mechanical systems, adherence to safety protocols, and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose issues to determine the cause of equipment failures.
+ Repair or replace defective components, such as bearings, belts, motors, and hydraulic systems.
+ Ensure all repairs and maintenance are conducted in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
+ Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.
+ Monitor and document the performance of equipment to identify trends and prevent future breakdowns.
+ Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements.
+ Address general facility maintenance needs, such as plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repairs.
+ Ensure the facility's mechanical systems, such as conveyors, pumps, and compressors, are functioning optimally.
+ Adhere to and enforce all workplace safety protocols and conduct regular safety checks on equipment.
+ Report any hazards or non-compliance issues.
+ Stay updated on industry standards and best practices to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
+ Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
+ Provide technical support and training to other staff members as needed.
+ Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding progress, challenges, and solutions.
**Essential Skills**
+ Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
+ Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
+ Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
+ Effective time management and organizational skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanics, engineering, or a related field preferred.
+ Experience: Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
+ Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, or noise).
+ Comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights, as required.
+ Must be able to travel occasionally to provide assistance at multiple company locations.

**Work Environment**
The Maintenance Mechanic typically works in industrial or manufacturing settings, often exposed to machinery noise, moving parts, and potential safety hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for certain tasks. The shift is from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with the need to be open to daily overtime. The environment is clean but can be loud.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
