Summary You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic specializing in sheet metal and heating and boiler equipment in the Facilities Sustainment Branch, Production Division, Public Works Department Naval Station Norfolk, of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic. Responsibilities You will install, maintain, and repair a variety of complex industrial equipment and systems involving power steam, high, medium and low pressure and temperature boilers with complicated components, critical requirements and rigid tolerances. You will repair, troubleshoot, and maintain single and multiple fuel power boilers and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment. You will develop patterns and lay out, cut, form, join, assemble, and install items such as heating, air conditioning, and ventilation pipes, ductwork, conduit, drying ovens, bulkheads, etc. You will plan, lay out, and construct manufactured items and systems with dovetailed, set-in bottom, burred-bottom, wired or lock seams using various metals including magnesium, honeycomb material, alloys, stainless steel, and copper sheet.
