Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform mechanical repairs on our conveyor, bottling, and packaging systems. This role involves motor changes, troubleshooting and diagnosing faults, changing drives and belts, gearboxes, performing preventative maintenance, and working on various equipment throughout the facility. The primary responsibility is fielding service calls to diagnose and troubleshoot issues. Typical tasks include fixing stoppages of machines/conveyors, changing bad cylinders, fixing photo eyes, replacing chains, and more. Preventative maintenance is a minor part of the job, conducted during a 'cleaning window' lasting 2-3 hours every 1-2 days.

We offer optional and unlimited overtime with flexible working hours. Employees can choose to work extra hours or stick to a 40-hour work week, barring emergency repairs. Competitive pay with the potential for a raise as soon as one month into the job based on performance. We provide a thrift plan similar to a pension plan, where employees contribute 2% of their income, and the company contributes 10-15% based on performance. Employees can invest up to 8%, with a maximum of 23% contribution towards retirement, and can withdraw funds with no penalty after 5 years. We also offer paid education up to 75% towards a related field, insurance with a family plan costing $160 bi-weekly, free generic prescriptions, and a $15 co-pay. No steel toes required; tennis shoes are allowed.

Work Environment

Standard shifts are 1st shift(7am-3pm) or 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) or 3rd shift (11pm-7am). New hires can expect to be on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks before transitioning to their actual shift. The work environment is a standard food facility, which is cold throughout most of the facility but not unbearable. The facility is very organized, with significant investments made in the last 5 years, including new conveyor systems, blow molding lines, packaging lines, and more.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
