**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
The Maintenance Mechanic supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, procedures, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. The role requires a general working knowledge of diesel engines, fuel management systems, hydraulic systems associated with large industrial fork trucks, and various other machinery.
**Responsibilities**
+ Read prints and schematics.
+ Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic pumps.
+ Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment such as yard trucks, trailers, large forklifts, overhead cranes, and burning equipment.
+ Repair, install, and adjust industrial machinery.
+ Work with remote-controlled overhead cranes, welding, diesel engines, and over-the-road flatbed trailers with DOT requirements.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of electrical operations throughout the facility.
+ Inspect electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and up to code.
+ Determine reasons for malfunctions of systems or components and create maintenance or repair plans.
+ Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components.
+ Review blueprints to understand wiring placement and equipment operation.
+ Assemble and install electrical panels and other electrical equipment.
+ Perform periodic and required maintenance and repairs on all company property and equipment.
+ Work and coordinate with multiple areas of the warehouse and coworkers to complete tasks.
+ Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
+ Demonstrate initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks.
+ Be an enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude.

+ Maintain dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality.
+ Work overtime and weekends as assigned depending on business needs.
+ Perform other warehouse or related tasks as required by the absence of a department member or due to a backlog of work.
+ Complete special projects as specified by management.
**Essential Skills**
+ General working knowledge of diesel engines, fuel management systems, hydraulic systems, computerized band saws, CNC Oxy Fuel burning machines, blaster, and plasma machines.
+ Ability to read prints and schematics.
+ Troubleshooting skills for hydraulic and pneumatic pumps.
+ Knowledge of repairing and installing industrial machinery.
+ Experience with remote-controlled overhead cranes, welding, diesel engines, and flatbed trailers with DOT requirements.
+ Working knowledge of electrical operations.
+ Ability to inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems.
+ Basic math skills.
+ Ability to read and write in English.
+ Ability to read a tape measure.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or Technical School Degree with mechanical and electrical skills.
+ 1-2 years of general maintenance & repair experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
+ Extensive knowledge of equipment and automotive repair.
+ Mechanically inclined.

**Work Environment**
This role involves working outside in various weather conditions such as cold, rain, and snow. Training will be on the 1st shift, which can last up to a year depending on the candidate. Shifts include 1st shift (7am-3pm, Monday to Friday), 3rd shift (11pm-7am, Sunday to Thursday). Overtime is available but not mandatory.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Marseilles,IL.
