About the Role:
The Mechanic is responsible for providing support to the Maintenance team, driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the department. You will add value to the role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
Performing a wide array of work relating to equipment and facilities maintenance in a food manufacturing plantInstalling new lines and equipment and maintaining all existing equipmentMaintenance tasks of varying scope with a high level of autonomy throughout the facility including preventative and correctiveImportant Details: This is a full-time permanent role on 2nd shift, which operates from 3pm-11pm on a rotational basis, including weekends. Starting pay $27.08/hr. and up to $33.22/hr. based on experience. Shift differential - $0.50/hr.
Basic Skills Required:
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with external contractors and internal customers (all functional areas) to ensure equipment maintenance needs are met.Possess strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and mechanical skills.Ability to read and understand all maintenance manuals, codes, and regulations.Possess a basic understanding of math with the ability to apply this for maintenance purposes in a food manufacturing setting. Ability to use and operate all tools and machinery required to complete maintenance responsibilities.Prior experience in the following areas: pneumatics (including conveyance), hydraulics, programmable logic controllers, piping (process and plumbing), blueprint reading, equipment rigging, welding, electrical wiring, and machining.Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment as required; commitment to using all PPE as required.Thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMP’s, food safety, and human safety policies.A minimum of 5 years prior maintenance and electrical experience is required.About You:
