Maintenance Mechanic
**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic for a 3rd shift position from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Candidates must be flexible with their availability before and after the shift. We are looking for individuals with hands-on experience with baggers, metal detectors, scalers, and fillers, preferably with GMP/food experience. This role requires a willingness to perform all aspects of maintenance, including tasks outside of core responsibilities when needed. **Responsibilities** + Perform installation, inspection, and repair of plant equipment such as metal detectors, baggers, sealers, scales, and fillers. + Assist with diagnosing malfunctions in machinery, equipment, or work processes. + Interpret instructions, specifications, blueprints for equipment installation, operation, and repairs. + Recommend measures to improve operations and the condition of equipment. + Ensure work is completed efficiently and timely. + Make sure correct material, equipment, and supplies are used. + Ensure all safety, housekeeping, and environmental rules and guidelines are followed. + Ensure all pertinent data related to maintenance activities are correct and documented accordingly to company and regulatory regulations. + Provide training to employees on quality standards and safe performance of equipment and tools. + Adhere to all current SOP’s, procedures, and quality requirements. + Perform electrical work, welding/fabricating as needed, and other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of previous industrial maintenance experience specifically with metal detectors, baggers, sealers, and scales. + Strong knowledge of plant maintenance operations including production equipment, AC/DC motors and controls, mechanical power transmissions, gear drives and speed ratios, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. + PLC experience is a plus with the ability to troubleshoot. Programming is a huge plus. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions. + Thorough working knowledge of all tools, procedures, and methods utilized in an industrial maintenance environment. + Thorough working knowledge of all electrical, mechanical systems, and electronic applications in an industrial environment. + Experience with metalworking and fabrication equipment. + Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems. + GMP experience preferred. + Must be flexible with hours and open for overtime. + Frequently required to lift and/or push up to 55 lbs. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Food production experience is preferred. + Welding/fabricating skills are a nice-to-have. **Why Work Here?** We offer 15 days of PTO (3 weeks), 10 paid holidays, and performance reviews with possible raises upon becoming permanent. It is a clean GMP environment with different rooms to minimize cross-contamination. The facility has 32 different lines. Employees are required to wear a smock, hair net/beard net if needed, and safety glasses in certain areas.
