GFL Environmental is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Winnipeg, MB!  The ideal candidate will repair and maintain all aspects of the operating system at the recycling plant on Mazenod Road. This is a 4.30 am - 3.00 pm shift.

Requirements
• High school diploma or general education degree.

• Able to work in a dusty environment.

• Minimum one year mechanical repair experience.

• Forklift license.

• Scissor lift or genie boom experience is considered an asset.

• Fall arrest license is considered an asset.

• Able to work from heights.

• Able to work overtime as needed.

Duties

• Daily system inspection is to be performed at the beginning and end of each shift.  Document any discrepancies found on a deficiency report.

• Check maintenance board for new and outstanding deficiency reports at the beginning of the shift.

• Perform system maintenance as per priority sequence and/or conduct emergency repairs as required.

• Daily maintenance but not limited to cleaning of Optical Sorters, Robot, Magnets, Drum feeder S4/S8 screens, conveyors, roller, bearings, shafts, ballistic , glass trammel and all other components in facility.

• Inform Shift Supervisor or Operations Manager if an immediate repair is necessary.

• Perform daily/weekly/monthly PMI’s as outlined in accordance with machine manuals or operational requirements. Fill out appropriate documentation.
