**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting production and packaging equipment, performing facility maintenance, and ensuring smooth operation of machinery. This position offers opportunities for growth and advancement within a large, well-known food manufacturing and grocery chain. **Responsibilities** + Perform preventative maintenance on production and packaging equipment + Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues in machinery + Install and set up new machinery and equipment + Conduct facility maintenance and upkeep during downtime + Perform welding and fabrication for new parts and repairs **Essential Skills** + Experience in industrial maintenance + Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues + Proficiency in preventative maintenance and general machinery upkeep + Skill in mechanical troubleshooting and repair + Basic electrical maintenance and repair capabilities + Competence in facilities maintenance and general building repairs + Comfort with basic computer programs and data entry **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in a food facility is a bonus + Welding and fabrication skills are a plus but not required + Understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and Ladder Logic is a plus but not required **Why Work Here?** This role offers an automatic pay increase of $0.50 every six months, up to the top of the scale, with a clear plan for advancement to the next level. You will be required to work every other weekend to perform maintenance on machinery while production is shut down. The facility employs 250 people, including 230 full-time and 20 temporary employees. You will work in areas with varying temperatures, including a refrigerated area (35-40 degrees) and a bakery area that can be hot. The dress code includes blue jeans and a plain t-shirt, with a hair net and beard net if necessary.
