We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at a leading food manufacturing company known for its premium frozen meatballs, chicken, appetizers, and snacks. ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, ensuring maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.Repair and maintain electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment such as control panels, PLCs, lift systems, conveyor shafts, motors, and bearings.Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.Collaborate with production associates and management to resolve production issues and ensure maximum production efficiencies.Observe mechanical devices in operation to identify causes of trouble.Utilize technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, and data acquisition.Assist with planning/scheduling and storeroom staff for CMMS tracking, including work orders, parts, and purchase requisitions.Fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment to access and remove defective parts.Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.Maintain a professional demeanor while multitasking under pressure with customers and co-workers.Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines using the SAP Work Order system, documenting hours worked on applicable work orders.Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling, and packaging production equipment.Weld, perform sheet metal work, and use basic shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools).Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.Essential SkillsMinimum of three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000.Technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, and data acquisition.Ability to troubleshoot and repair 3-phase 480V electrical systems and controls ladder logic.Experience using the SAP Work Order system.Additional Skills & QualificationsFood and beverage manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.Welding and heavy equipment maintenance experience.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
You will be working in a food and beverage manufacturing industry with a non-climate controlled environment. The third shift operates from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwood, Massachusetts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr.
