Maintenance Mechanic
Maintenance Mechanic - Garland, Tx3rd Shift - $30-33/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. This role requires electro-mechanic technicians with 3 phase 480V electrical experience, controls ladder logic troubleshooting knowledge, and experience with preventive maintenance programs.

ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, including control panels, PLCs, lift systems, conveyor shafts, motor and bearing replacement.Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.Work directly with production associates and management to solve production issues and ensure maximum production efficiencies.Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.Provide technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.Assist with planning/scheduling and storeroom staff for CMMS tracking, including work orders, parts, and purchase requisitions.Fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment to remove defective parts.Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.Maintain a professional demeanor with customers and co-workers while working on multiple tasks under pressure.Use the SAP Work Order system to initiate purchase orders for parts and machines and document hours worked on applicable work orders.Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling, and packaging production equipment.Weld, perform sheet metal work, and employ basic shop floor skills such as lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.Essential SkillsMinimum of three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000.Technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions.Experience in welding, heavy equipment, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance repair.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is a plus but not required.Experience with preventive maintenance programs.Basic shop floor skills including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position is in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. The work environment is non-climate controlled, and you will be working on the 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.50 - $33.50/hr.
