Maintenance Mechanic
**Hiring Traveling Maintenance Mechanics!** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to conduct regular maintenance, inspection, and assembly of industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling mechanical components, overseeing diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems, and actively participating in designing maintenance plans and tasks regarding upgrades and replacements. Additionally, the role involves maintaining work logs, repairs, and maintenance records, managing inventory and new parts ordering, and assessing equipment/machinery to alert clients on issues or proactive potential issues. The candidate must be knowledgeable about safety policies, standards, and procedures, and prioritize safety by immediately reporting all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor. **Responsibilities** + Conduct regular maintenance, inspection, and assembly of industrial equipment. + Assemble mechanical components according to machine specifications. + Oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems. + Design maintenance plans and tasks regarding upgrades and replacements. + Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records. + Manage inventory and new parts ordering. + Assess equipment/machinery to alert clients on issues or proactive potential issues. + Stay informed on safety policies, standards, and procedures. + Prioritize safety and immediately report all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical aptitude + Experience with generators and compressors + Electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting + Equipment maintenance + Hand tool proficiency + Engine servicing (diesel engines) + Repair and preventive maintenance + Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge + Welding and fabrication skills + Schematic reading + Heavy equipment maintenance + Truck and auto maintenance repair + Natural gas compressor experience **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 8+ years experience working on generators in an 'on call' field environment preferred + Experience in both shop and field diagnosing, troubleshooting, electrical and mechanical repairs + Strong customer service skills **Why Work Here?** Join a team that values safety, professional growth, and work-life balance. Shop hours are from 7 am to 6 pm. Field technicians are on call 24/7. The maximum hours expected are 6 12-hour shifts. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of multiple locations across the US. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.
