**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
Responsible for working inside and outside the coke plant performing repairs and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment. The candidate will maintain various types of machinery in the coke process, work in conjunction with the maintenance crew to complete projects, and maintain internal and external relationships. The candidate will also follow environmental compliance and perform maintenance and repairs on conveyors, sizing screeners, and process pumps.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment inside and outside the coke plant.
+ Maintain various types of machinery involved in the coke process.
+ Collaborate with the maintenance crew to complete projects.
+ Maintain internal and external relationships.
+ Follow environmental compliance regulations.
+ Perform maintenance and repairs on conveyors, sizing screeners, and process pumps.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years of maintenance experience.
+ Mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
+ Welding and fabrication from print as well as utilization of oxy/acetylene torch.
+ Rigging and pipefitting.
+ Operation of hand and power tools.
+ Experience with Rigging 7018 and 6010.
+ Hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting.
+ Blueprint reading, mechanical, machine setup, pneumatics, hydraulics, machine repair, machining, welding, tooling, and repair.
+ Attitude: energetic, positive, eager to learn.
+ Experience with motors, cylinders, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps with alignment, gearboxes, gas cutting torch, rigging, fabrication, conveyors, ARC welding (all positions), and industrial pipefitting.
+ Mechanical aptitude.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Basic electrical troubleshooting.
+ Calculation of load lifts.
+ Journeyman card.
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Valid Driver's License.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is heavy industrial and requires wearing fire retardant clothing, steel-toed boots, hard hat, and safety glasses. The plant may require working in high areas and exposure to all types of weather conditions, including summer heat up to 130 degrees. All uniforms, boots, glasses, ear protection, and tools will be supplied. The contractor will work with the same crew for each shift, developing team chemistry. Safety is the number one rule, with a strong emphasis on team collaboration and safety.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, Michigan.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
