Maintenance Mechanic
**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various industrial equipment within our plant, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with company policies and standards. **Responsibilities** + Perform preventative maintenance on all industrial equipment, including conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (arc/heli-arc), gearboxes/drives, valves/pumps, federal fillers, and N8 fillers. + Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480V, 3-phase, and interpret electrical drawings. + Direct and coordinate assembly, fabrication, and installation activities to ensure equipment and systems conform to engineering design and internal specifications/standards. + Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assign duties. + Ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules, and regulations. + Report and take necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring. + Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems. + Realign and adjust functional components and control instruments. + Locate damaged air and liquid hydraulic pipes, lines, or wires. + Perform set-up and operate metalworking tools for repair or creation of existing parts. + Read and understand schematic flowcharts and technical manuals. + Follow GMP's, SOP's, and SSOP's. + Install equipment for new electrical services (120V, 240V, and 480V 3-phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contactors, relays, timers, and controls. + Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work; install or replace circuit breakers, fuses, and variable speed drives. **Essential Skills** + Minimum 3 years of skilled industrial maintenance experience. + Experience with preventative maintenance and/or repairs of production and processing equipment. + Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical systems. + Ability to work with engines, motors, pneumatics tools, conveyor systems, and utility-related equipment. + Experience with welding, blueprint reading, HVAC systems, and preventive maintenance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Training/Experience in single and three-phase industrial electricity and control systems. + Knowledge of AC/DC drive systems. + Expertise in pneumatics/hydraulics systems. + Proficiency in welding practices and techniques. + Experience in machining/fabricating practices and techniques. + Familiarity with industrial boiler operations. + Knowledge of water treatment systems and HVAC systems. **Why Work Here?** We offer a supportive and comprehensive benefits package that includes 80% employer-paid health insurance, seven accrued sick days per year, paid major holidays, five days of vacation after the first year, and a 401k with a match. The work environment can be wet and cold at times. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menands, New York. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
