Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the 97th FSS Galaxy Bowling Center. Installs, adjust, repairs, and inspects bowling facility electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic score and foul units, automatic ball cleaners, hole bores, and lane maintenance machines, has technical accountability for equipment acquisition, usage, and all other maintenance of bowling facility equipment to include procurement advisory services, scheduling and coordination. Develops organizes, controls, and carries out the overall maintenance of improved and unimproved areas in the bowling center. Independently serves as the technical subject matter expert. Reviews applicable regulations and directives to determine appropriate actions to take or recommend. Gathers, monitors and maintains data to complete reports, respond to inquiries and assist others. Plans and oversees minor construction, repair and renovation to maintenance equipment and components. Determines materials, tools, methods and techniques appropriate for each project. Prepares required maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure timely repair for equipment and facility as assigned. Obtains through proper channels the necessary parts, tools, and materials required to complete projects and proposals for administrative review and approval. Works under the supervision of the Bowling center Manager who furnishes broad policy guidance and reviews work primarily on the basis of facility appearance and equipment operation. Solely responsible for the storage of all maintenance equipment and tools includes proper disposition of any such that is no longer required or operational. Performs all other duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Incumbent must have the experience and ability to explain and demonstrate the procedures necessary to accomplish the work. Must have experience in planning and directing the acquisition of all equipment, supplies and services for facility maintenance. Must have skills and abilities to identify problems, provide solutions for all work operations and repair of equipment and tools. Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair of bowling equipment. Must have a knowledge of the mechanical and electrical principles and of the operating characteristics of bowling equipment and standard test equipment. Must possess the ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and manufacturers service manuals. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical, annual audio test may be required. National Agency check. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with Supervisors, co-workers, customers and vendors. Must have experience in a bowling facility which provided the basic knowledge of bowling programs, procedures and rules in which provided an in-depth knowledge of the operations of the facility. Previous experience in pro-shop operations, use of ball drilling equipment and the repair and adjustment of the surface of bowling balls is also desirable. Must be able to drive a government motor vehicle and submit annual driving records as well as satisfactorily complete drug testing as required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
