Maintenance Mechanic I / Preventative Maintenance

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assists other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine/building repairs.

*This position is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 12 hour shifts. (If all 36 hours are worked, receive $100 bonus for the week.)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and buildingAssists in the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specificationsOrders supplies and parts as requiredPerforms preventive maintenance as scheduledMaintains records of repair and maintenance activitiesPerforms duties consistent with established safety rules and proceduresMaintains a clean and organized work areaParticipates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetingsIf assigned to Treating Department, performs duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practicesPrepares various reports as requiredPerforms other duties as required


Qualifications

High school diplomaMinimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenanceWorking knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and weldingWorking knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulationsDemonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practicesMust be at least 18 years of age
