Job Description

Albemarle is hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic - Class 2. This position is located at Albemarle's Kings Mountain, NC facility.

What You Will Do

Safe maintenance and repair of mechanical rotating equipmentProper handling and installation of mechanical sealsInterpretation of mechanical designs and maintenance manualsUse of a wide variety of hand, portable, and stationary power toolsDemonstrate root cause analysis approach to failures and generate reports accordingly

What You Bring

Required:

Experience in safe in-plant maintenance and repair of mechanical equipmentDemonstrated ability to work in close tolerances - familiar with dial indicators, dial calipers, micrometers and other exact measuring equipmentGood verbal communication skillsPast history of excellent quality results in daily work activitiesMust be motivated and self-directedMust have the ability to work in a team environmentGood written and electronic communication skillsHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum (3) years' experience working as a mechanic in an industrial setting

It would be great if you also had:

2-Year Technical Degree in mechanical field or NCCER millwright certificationWorking knowledge of both pump and reactor functionsWorking knowledge of hydraulic pumps, motors, and actuatorsWorking knowledge of correct alignment proceduresThorough understanding of how bearing condition, alignment, structural support, and piping stress affect equipment performance and reliabilityAn understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance proceduresWorking knowledge of the purpose and installation of mechanical sealsWorking knowledge of lubrication best practices
