Our core values (https://www.albemarle.com/about/our-values) are the foundation that make us successful for ourselves, our customers and the planet. **Job Description** Albemarle is hiring for a **Maintenance Mechanic II.** This position is **onsite and located at our Silver Peak, NV location.** **What You Will Do** + · Completes all applicable permits and job walk-downs for Maintenance and Contractor work (i.e., Lockout/Tag-out, Safe Work, Confined Space Entry, Line Break, etc.).· Enter near miss or incident reports into Safety database. Takes appropriate action to resolve then provides information to enable root cause analysis through an incident investigation.· Responsible for entering production data into VDBs, log/batch sheets, databases, and systems (SAP).· Performs all station shift operation and maintenance, including startup and shutdown of main plant components and auxiliaries.· Respond to abnormalities and take corrective actions consistent with established operating procedures and good engineering practices.· Conducts routine tours of the plant to inspect equipment and provide feedback to other employees.· Maintains accuracy of shift operating logs, records, time sheets, work orders and other administrative documents related to the site.· Performs routine cycle chemistry testing and makes the necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency. Checks daily consumption rates of chemicals, gasses, fuels, water, and other consumables; monitors inventories and initiates action to replenish when appropriate.· Performs mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks under the direction of Management when assigned.· Investigates plant problems, incidents, accidents, and unusual events, and provides analyses, recommendations, reports, and appropriate follow-up plans.· Reads and records gauges and meters. Performs routine operational tests and adjustments on all power plant systems and components as required.· Develops, assists, and revises operations and maintenance related procedures.· Performs and maintains good housekeeping standards and related duties. **What You Bring** **Required:** + High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years related experience preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.· Shift work (nights and or days) is required, including weekends and holidays.· Working knowledge of utility and power plant mechanical and electrical equipment, including Chillers, motors, pumps, fluid systems, chemical handling, waste-water treatment systems, centrifugal air compressors, AC and DC electrical distribution and control systems, etc.· Knowledge of power plant safety policies and procedures, especially in areas such as chemical handling, high-energy systems, confined spaces, first aid, rotating machinery, and heavy equipment· Knowledge of and ability to understand fundamental principles related to physics, mathematics, AC & DC electrical theory, heat transfer and fluid flow, thermal-dynamics, and chemistry.· Knowledge of and experience in mechanical maintenance, rigging, rotating machine repair, fabrication, machine alignment, basic vibration analysis, and using electrical test equipment· It is crucial to the outcome of the job tasks that the employee can: Talk and hear; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms extensively.· Vision requirements for this position include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception and ability to adjust focus. **It’d be great if you also had:** + Technical School + 5 Plus Years + Microsoft Office + SAP **Benefits of Joining Albemarle** + Competitive compensation + Comprehensive benefits package + A diverse array of resources to support you professionally and personally.
