We want you to apply! **Job Summary and Qualifications** POSITION SUMMARY: Supports the Facilities Management department bymaintainingand repairingmechanical equipment, systems and spaces throughouthospital owned and operated properties. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the Director, Facilities Management,and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the followingpreventative and emergent maintenance/repairfunctions: 1. Perform preventative, corrective,and emergent maintenance procedures on building mechanical/plumbingequipmentas directed or assigned; inspect/change belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, clears clogged drains, andassistsin other plumbing repairs under the direction/guidance of a licensed plumber.Maintains boiler room, mechanical room, and utility system logs in the absence of certified technicians, and/or as directed by supervisor during after-hour operations. 1. Perform preventative, corrective,and emergent maintenance procedures on buildinglighting and alarm systemsequipment;Dispose/store used lamps/ballast according to department policies and regulatory requirements.Responds to various system alarms in the absence of certifiedtechnicians,Acknowledgesalarms,resetsor takesappropriate correctiveactions under the guidance and direction of certified technicians. 1. Perform preventative, corrective,and emergent maintenance procedures of the built environment. Replace broken/damaged screens, blinds,shadesand ceiling tiles.Installs/hangs pictures, shelves, signs, racks, white boards, andthe like.Install,maintain, and repair all types ofdoors, furniture, and fixtures.Moves furniture, fixtures and equipment using assistive devices, using proper body mechanics to prevent injury. 1. Adheres toall safety and security programs and policies of the organization, as well asStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs),Joint Commissioncompliance Standards, and organizational policiesregardingthe “Environment of Care” and“Life Safety.”Reports deficiencies to supervisorin regards tofire and smokerated doors/frames, “Above Ceiling Program,” and means of egress concerns. 1. Receives andforwardsall communicationsregardingFacilities Management issues to the immediate supervisor via phone,log bookentries, or approved electronic format.Follow work order procedures as assigned andmonitor/close orders through the CMMS. 1. Monitors and responds to weather conditions to ensure entrance ways are cleaned of debris and/or saltedduring after-hour operations.Performs roof and area checks to ensure debris and/orbuildingare secure during adverse weather conditions.Initiates “First Response” actions during emergency/contingency situationsin accordance withestablished organizational policies and procedures. 1. Maintains a safe and clean work environment.Clean work area regularly. Keep all tools and equipment clean and in good working order. 1. Provide maintenance coverage for after hour maintenance calls through the Call Back Rotation schedule andperforms similar or related duties as assigned orrequested. **What qualifications you will need:** Education: + High school diploma or equivalent. + Post-secondaryschool or vocational training preferred. + Courses in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, sheet metal, automotive repair,ventilationand clinical engineering preferred. Experience: + Two to four years’ experience in plant operations and/orbuilding maintenance in a healthcare environment.
