Key Requirements:

+ Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
+ Ability to lift heavy objects for extended periods.
+ Experience handling chemicals or compounds.
+ Knowledge of basic power tools.
+ A valid driver’s license is required.
+ Experience operating a forklift.
+ **MVR background clearance is required.**
Pay Rate: $25.50 - $28.00 per hour.
**SUMMARY**
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic will perform a variety of maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment and facilities and will perform preventive maintenance on forklifts and clamp lifts. In addition to installing or adjusting or maintaining industrial and facilities equipment.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Strong understanding of mechanical principles and ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery. Regularly inspecting and servicing equipment according to scheduled maintenance plans to identify potential issues before they become major problems. Diagnosing mechanical faults on equipment, replacing worn parts, and performing necessary repairs to restore functionality. Maintaining an inventory of spare parts and ensuring timely ordering of replacement. Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures while performing maintenance tasks. Coordinating with SBDC staff to minimize downtime during repairs and address operational concerns. General building maintenance activities include installing and /or correct lighting fixtures, plumbing, grounds upkeep. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Advises employees on care and preservation of maintenance supplies, tools and equipment utilized within the facility. Advises Maintenance Lead or Sr. Maintenance Mechanic concerning work orders progress or any pending issues within the department.
**Computer Skills**
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams, and Internet knowledge.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience handling or working with chemicals or compounds.
Requires knowledge of power tools.

Ability to read and follow instructions as provided by management. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and customer contacts. Effectively communicate progress to management.
**MATHEMATICAL and REASONING ABILITY SKILLS**
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Problem solving and Technical/analytical skills required. Responsible for quality order filling, presentation for product going directly to the consumer. Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves. Ability to work in elevated and/or confined spaces and in unfavorable weather conditions for long periods of time.
**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
Must be certified to drive a forklift/clamp lift, a reach lift and a cherry picker lift. Valid Driver’s License is a must.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts while working around forklifts, clamp trucks, other maintenance equipment, fumes or airborne particles generated by propane forklifts, and outside weather conditions as the warehouse doors are generally open at all times of the year. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 0 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
