Required to attend mandatory training and pass any associated tests. Must be able to travel within
the ProMedica Health System. Will be required to use computerized work order System. On Call
hours may be required on an as needed basis.

1. Repair and maintain plumbing, replacing washers, replacing, or mending broken pipes.
2. Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, penetrations, and fixtures in
structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
3. Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, to
establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installations around obstructions
such as electrical wiring.
4. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required angle using hand and power tools or
machines such as pipe cutters, pipe threading machines, and pipe bending machines. Hang
steel supports from ceiling joist to hold pipes in place.
5. Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and
locate leaks. Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws,
bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment. Fill
pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and
locate leaks.
6. Responsible for organization's compliance to rules and codes set forth by regulatory
agencies, i.e., JCAHO, OSHA, NFPA, etc.
7. Install underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect
fixtures and plumbing to these fixtures.
8. Monitor all gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure all equipment is operating
properly.
9. All other duties as assigned.
