Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support a contract based at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, GA. RATE OF PAY: $35.39 per hour **POSITION SUMMARY** Repairs machinery or mechanical equipment of an establishment. Work involves: Examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble; dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts; replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock’ ordering the production of replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for a major repairs: preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops; reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation. Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Performs other duties as assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS** + High school Graduate or Equivalent. + Four (4) years journey level experience in the maintenance mechanic field. + Must possess the tools of their trade. + Must possess a valid state driver’s license. + Must have and wear hard- toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-05 standards. + Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Upon hire, must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** + Walking; Frequent + Climbing: Up to 150 feet + Bending/Stooping: Moderate + Crawling: Occasional + Reaching: Frequent + Lifting: Up to 50 lbs. **OTHER RESPONSIBILTIES** Safety - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
